drama serial titled Chandra Karigar, written and directed by popular litterateur and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed.

The storyline revolves around Shubho, the only son of a retired and mentally imbalanced father. Quite often Shubho causes anxiety in the family. He writes poetry, reads books on mathematics, researches on several complex subjects.

Lately he has been frequenting a village; an excuse to take a break from the chaos that is his life in the city. The serial follows Shubho getting involved in village politics.

Asaduzzaman Nur, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Meher Afroz Shaon, Agun, Challenger and Badhon play lead roles in the serial.

All new drama serial ‘Parshi Bari’ is on air on RTV from February 20.

Scripted by Shahin Zaman and directed by Al Hasen, the drama tells a story of two families in the countryside. Young Shamim falls in love with a girl called Jhumur in the neighbourhood and at one stage Shamim goes to his father with the proposal of marriage but Shamim’s father Aziz turns down the proposal as in the past Aziz was in love with Jhumur’s mother in their childhood. Angry Shamim leaves the place and sets out for an unknown destination and finally lands in a city. Later, Shamin gets involved in a crooked business and gradually plunges into the evil world.

A premier was held recently and RTV chairman and managing director Morshed Alam, chief executive M Hamid, acting head of programme Minhazur Rahman, production house Kashban, proprietor AK Azad and the drama director Al Hasen were, among others, present on the occasion.

Casts:
The cast includes Mosharraf Karim, Kochi Khondokar, Sayka Ahmed, Sohel Khan, AKM Hasan, Momo, Nova, Mishu, Rifat Chowdhury and Ahsanul Haque Minu.

mEgA sErIaL "Friends n Family" (FnF)

FnF is written and directed by Redwan Rony, the serial features Abul Hayat, Mosharraf Karim, Ahmed Rubel, Aupi Karim and Sumaiya Shimu in different roles.

Beginning from January 17 a new drama serial FnF (Friends n Family) will be aired on ntv, says a press release. The serial will be aired on Sundays and Mondays at 9:40 pm.

The premiere for “FnF” was held at Emmanuelle’s Convention Center, a new Cineplex at Rifles Square in Dhanmondi on January 9. Rupchanda, the premium oil brand from BEOL (Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited) is the sponsor of the serial. High up officials of BEOL including Lee Peng Kwang, general manager, BEOL; Asaduzzaman Noor, MP; Redwan Rony, director “FnF” and the artistes of the serial were present at the programme.

Speaking at the occasion Asaduzzaman Noor said, “BEOL works relentlessly to ensure good health and happiness of every Bangladeshi family. That’s why, we want healthy and happy entertainment for families and we believe that better cultural practices will live forever.”

Speaking of the serial Redwan Rony said, “I am honoured being a part of such an initiative by BEOL. I also thank my full team on this occasion for their uninterrupted support. I hope the audience will appreciate the serial, where some of the most renowned and sincere artistes have performed.”
